Tree Protection

Proper tree protection during construction is important to the survival and stability of trees. The situation pictured here is not the appropriate way to protect a tree.

Sometimes even healthy looking trees can present a risk of failure. Rodney is pictured  here performing a tree risk assessment of an urban tree with restricted root-space.

Rodney with the  Monumental Plane Tree in Krassi Village on the island of Crete, Greece. It is estimated to be 2,400 years old. In human terms, that is close to 100 generations!

Pictured  here is the 100-Horse Chestnut on the western slope of Mt. Etna on the Island of  Sicily.  The tree is estimated to be between 2,000 & 4,000 years old. It is a testament to the perseverance of trees.

Wherever Rodney travels, he is always looking for heritage trees. Here he is in Greece on the island of Crete with the 3,000 year old Ano Vouves Olive Tree. It is still producing olives!
